Objective

We offer design & manufacture of reverse engineering component parts and assemblies, ranging from simple machined sleeves through to complete machines, so It is not necessary to buy a new pump simply because spare parts are not available as the pump model is no longer manufactured and even we can utilize reverse engineering to upgrade the hydraulic and material. Egaserve reverse engineering services workflow includes a variety of innovation and state-of-the-art technology solutions:

  • Rigorous process and design control procedures to provide a competitive and reliable alternative
  • Portable all-in-one coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) for advanced laser scanning of intricate components
  • Sophisticated 3D modeling and deviation analysis software capabilities
  • Proprietary engineering standards in conjunction with industry standards
  • Integrated manufacturing process via Egaserve spare parts services to provide component repeatability with a high degree of accuracy

Typical services

Reverse engineering enables the duplication of an existing part by capturing the component's physical dimensions, features, and material properties:

  • Creation of CAD models as the basis for future reproduction
  • Perfect reproduction of spare parts including turned and cast parts for any types and brand of pumps
  • Reverse engineering to improve the hydraulic and material
  • Assess unusual wear areas and recommendation for corrective action

Customer advantages

Advantages of the Egaserve reverse engineering services for our customers:

  • Replacements for original parts that are no longer available
  • Improved lead time and delivery
  • Quality engineered components at a more cost effective price when compared with the OEM
  • Engineering solutions can be offered to enhance efficiency, improve performance and reduce component wear
  • Improved mechanical and hydraulic performance
  • Parts can be fabricated for pumps from any manufacturer

Process timeline

Process flowchart of Egaserve reverse engineering services:

  1. Measurement & data capture: If a drawing is not available, we use specialized equipment to measure and digitize the geometry of a sample part
  2. Materials analysis & 3D design: Our experts then rationalize the data into a 3D model. Metallurgical, design or hydraulic upgrades are provided if required
  3. Moulding: Based on the 3D model, the mould is created using a machine patterns
  4. Casting: In the next step, the raw part is cast and we pour many different alloys to meet customer requirements
  5. Machining: Final process steps such as machining, balancing and testing are performed

Engineered service solutions

Hydraulic design process. The performance of a centrifugal pump is firstly determined from the heart of every pump which is formed by the impeller rotating in the pump casing. Together, the impeller and casing determine the flow characteristics of a pump. Once the hydraulic performance of the pump has been optimized, a thorough mechanical and dynamical analysis by means of FEM/ CFD analysis form the basis for a solid mechanical pump design, which guarantees long mean time between maintenance and service periods.

Hydraulic re-design to address process changes. Essential to any pump’s operation is its hydraulic performance. This is measured in flow, pressure and power consumed. Egaserve flow technology’s unrivalled technical expertise means that we are able to re-design any installed unit in order to optimize its operational requirements. In the majority of cases, this can be done by finding an alternative hydraulic setup that already exists. We can also supply fully optimized clean sheet designs, using the latest software tools.

Advanced simulation. Egaturbo expert engineers performs all stages of the pump design process from the preliminary design to flow simulation and preparation of final reports. We begin to establish specific requirements and goals for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Then, using state-of-the-art engineering techniques and analysis tools, we will create a design to meet our customer specifications. Afterwards, we will provide the CAD solid modeling of the designed flow path and manufacturing drawings. Our collective experience covers all branches of pump design and related fields of knowledge including: hydraulics design, CFD, FEM, and rotor dynamic analysis.
